Are the flavours natural?

Yes, as far as possible, our fragrances are of natural origin. The flavours in "Le Nez du Vin", "Le Nez du Café" and "Le Nez du Whisky" are made from both natural and synthetic ingredients in a roughly 50/50 ratio.

Why do we use synthetic (man-made, artificial) ingredients?

In order for the quality of the flavor to be constant. Fruit extraction techniques tend to degrade the product and extract notes that are not always pleasant. For example, natural banana extract can smell bad, and natural strawberry and apricot flavors are not stable.

How long will the flavours last?

Our fragrances are guaranteed for 5 years. They can last 10 years if stored in good conditions:

Store the vials upright in the box. Keep them away from sources of light and heat (radiators, sunlight).

Do the flavours contain alcohol?

We try as much as possible to use other solvents (only 1 of the 5 flavors in the Masterkit contains alcohol).

However, some natural products are only soluble in alcohol. This is the case for example with the hay absolute (pure essence).

Is it possible to purchase the flavors or books separately?

Éditions Jean Lenoir publishes specialist works on the olfactory traditions of wine, coffee and whisky. These are not 'products' but 'book-sets' that appeal to multiple sensory perceptions: not only sight and touch, but also smell.

For this reason, the vials are inseparable from the accompanying books, and vice versa. The inscriptions help to link the collection's aromas to the wine, coffee or whisky you are tasting.
